Autocomplete Features

The /streamer remove command has autocomplete to make your life easier:

When you start typing a username, Discord will show you all currently tracked streamers for the selected platform. This prevents typos and makes it easy to remove streamers even if you don't remember their exact username.

Permission Requirements

Most commands require Manage Server permission to ensure only authorized users can configure notifications.

Don't have permission? Ask a server admin or someone with Manage Server to:

  1. Give you the permission
  2. Run the commands for you

Platform Support

Twitch

  • Uses Twitch usernames (the part after twitch.tv/)
  • Example: For twitch.tv/ninja, use username "ninja"
  • Instant notifications (under 30 seconds)

YouTube

  • Uses YouTube channel handles (the @username format)
  • Example: For youtube.com/@mrbeast, use username "@mrbeast"
  • Also supports channel IDs for channels without custom handles
YouTube Limitations

YouTube notifications typically have a 2-5 minute delay compared to Twitch due to YouTube platform limitations.

Troubleshooting Commands

"Missing Permissions" Error

Solution: Make sure you have Manage Server permission in your Discord server. Contact a server admin if you don't.

"Invalid Username" Error

Solution: Double-check the streamer's username:

  • For Twitch: Use the exact username from their URL (case doesn't matter)
  • For YouTube: Use the @handle or channel ID

"Limit Reached" Error

Solution: You've hit your tier's streamer limit:

  • Free tier: 5 Twitch + 5 YouTube max
  • Premium tier: 300 Twitch + 10 YouTube max

Use /streamer remove to remove some streamers, or /upgrade to increase your limit.

Command Not Showing Up

Possible causes:

  1. Bot not in server
  2. Bot lacks permissions in channel
  3. Discord sync delay

Solution: Re-invite the bot or wait a few minutes for Discord to sync commands.

Best Practices

Do This

  • • Use dedicated channels for notifications
  • • Check /subscription before adding streamers
  • • Use autocomplete to avoid typos
  • • Use /portal for bulk management

Avoid This

  • • Don't send notifications to busy channels
  • • Don't add streamers without testing first
  • • Don't use full URLs (just usernames)
  • • Don't spam add/remove commands

Advanced Configuration

For advanced features like custom message templates, webhooks, embed customization, and notification filters, use the Web Portal:

/portal

The portal provides a visual interface for configuring:

  • Custom Templates (Premium): Personalize notification messages
  • Custom Webhooks (Premium): Send notifications with custom identity
  • Embed Settings: Customize colors, hide viewer counts, change preview images
  • Filter Rules (Premium): Control when notifications are sent based on title or game
